Year 5 & 6 First Aid Club

Date: 24th Feb 2017 @ 3:56pm

The past couple of weeks, Year 5 and 6 pupils have been learning first aid. This is a life skill that they will hopefully never have to use, however, it prepares them for these situations if they occur. The children have learnt how to deal with an unconscious casualty that isn't breathing; how to deal with someone choking and how to make contact to the emergency services.

Over the next few weeks, the children will learn how to deal with an unconscious casualty that is breathing; how to deal with a severe bleed and how to deal with minor injuries.

Upon completion of this course, children will receive their Heart Start certificate provided by the British Heart Foundation.

If you would like to see what the children have been up to this week, check out our photos of the children dealing with a choking casuality.

Well done everyone!
